Assisted living facilities are for people who need assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) but want to live as independently as possible for as long as possible. ADLs include, but are not limited to, activities such as eating, bathing, dressing and medication management. Assisted living really exists to bridge the gap between independent living and memory care or skilled nursing homes. Residents in assisted living are not able to live by themselves, but do not necessarily require constant care either.
